Aadi is the first month of the Dakshinayana period (Six month period from summer to winter).
Amavasai (New moon) day in the month of Aadi is ideal for taking a dip in the sea and offering Tharpanam to ancestors who are also known as Thenpulathaar, in Tamil.
Aadi Amavasai is a special day meant for the worship of ancestors.
Tharpanam will be conducted between 6.30am and 1.00pm.
Athmashanthi Archanai will be performed in the morning from 6.30am to 1.00pm and in the evening from 6.30pm to 9.30pm
