ஆனி மாதத்தில் உத்திர நட்சத்திரம் சேர்ந்த நாள். நடராஜரின் ஆறு(கால)பூஜைகளில் உச்சிகால பூஜைக்குறிய நாள். திருமஞ்சனம் என்றால் அபிஷேகம்; என்றே பொருள்படும். நடராஜரின் அபிஷேக திருநாளாக வழிபாடு செய்யப்படும் சிறப்புடையது.

Aaani Thirumanjanam falls on the day of Uthira Nakshatram in the month of Aani (May-June). Of the six seasonal Poojas for Nataraja this is the high summer one (noon for Devas or celestial beings). Thirumanjanam means Abishegam (ablution). This day is auspicious for the abishekam and worship of Sri Natarajar. Sri Alangkaadu Ratnasabha Oorthva Thandava Darshan is considered beneficial. Of the six Aatara Chakras, this is the dance of the chakra called Aknja, in which the abishegam overflows with nectar.  Hence, it is called Thirumanjanam.
